About NALAF

New American Leaders Action Fund (NALAF) is building a democracy that represents and includes all people by engaging new voters, supporting New Americans as they run for office, and expanding civic engagement.

We believe that all people should be represented in government. This means training, supporting, and electing leaders who share life experiences and values with their communities to ensure every voice is heard and included in key policy decisions. As new voices to our democracy, their perspectives and hard won participation must be included at every level of government and represented in places of power.

If you would like to join us in achieving our vision for our democracy and support the next cohort of New American candidates, please review the open job opportunities below:

  • New American Leaders and New American Leaders Action Fund are seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join the Board of Directors.

To submit a nomination or apply for a position, please use this form to provide all the requested information. We appreciate your assistance in finding individuals who are dedicated to helping us achieve our mission.

Both boards play a vital role in advancing our missions and ensuring our organizations thrive. We are looking for candidates that fit the following criteria:

    • Commitment to Mission: The optimal candidate is politically engaged with values rooted in social justice. They should have a strong gender and racial equity lens, even if they themselves are not women or people of color.

    • Leadership Skills: We seek individuals with proven leadership abilities, innovative thinking, and the ability to drive positive change. Ideally, they have previous board experience.

    • Diverse Background: Candidates should have life experience connected to the immigrant experience. Our boards aim to reflect the diverse communities we serve so we encourage nominations from individuals of different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.

    • Fundraising Commitment: Board members are expected to make a sincere commitment to actively contribute their time, skills, and resources towards NAL or NALAF’s mission, ensuring that their leadership is underpinned by a meaningful personal annual donation. Additionally, each board member is required to lead by example in fundraising efforts, pledging to secure a minimum of $10,000 in financial support for New American Leaders and a minimum of $5,000 for New American Leaders Action Fund.

If you have any questions or would like to discuss the nomination process further, please feel free to contact Dani Gatson at danielle@newamericanleaders.org.
