INTRODUCTION

New American Leaders and The New American Leaders Action Fund (together, “NAL/AF,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) collect personal information from you in order to provide our products and services. The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to inform you about how we collect, use, disclose, or otherwise process your personal information when you visit our website or other locations where this Privacy Policy is located or referenced (together, the “Site”) and to provide you with our products and services (collectively, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy also informs you about the choices and rights you have regarding your personal information and how to exercise those choices and rights. This Privacy Policy is part of our Terms of Use. To the extent permitted by applicable law, your use of our Services constitutes your acknowledgment and/or consent to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use.

NAL/AF may collect certain categories of personal information about you when you access or use our Services, or when you directly provide it to us (e.g., by participating in a survey, signing up for a newsletter, or sending an email). Such personal information may include: 

  • Contact information. Information such as name, email address, mailing address, social media account handles, and telephone number(s). 

  • Demographic information. Information such as gender, pronouns, date of birth/age, and household income. 

  • Background details. Information about your engagement with NAL/AF, such as status as an elected official, plans to run for office, work conducted on political campaigns, prior experience in politics, and educational and employment background. This may also include sensitive personal information, such as nationality/citizenship. 

  • Payment information. Information such as cardholder’s name, credit or debit card number, expiration date, security code, and billing address. 

  • Usage information. Our Site uses cookies and other trackers to collect information, which may include device information (e.g., IP address, the type of browser and operating system used to access our Site, etc.), browser information (i.e., which operating system you use), general location, and information about when and how you interact with our Site (e.g., the date and time you access our Site, which pages you visit, etc.). 

  • Other information. We may collect any other information you provide to us, including, but not limited to, the contents of an email you send to us, or information volunteered in response to a survey. To the extent permitted by applicable law, voluntarily submitting personal information constitutes your consent to the use of the information for the stated purpose. 

We use the personal information we collect about you for the following purposes: 

  • To provide you with the Services you request, which includes processing payments. 

  • To develop and improve the Services and their functionality, which includes troubleshooting Services.

  • To communicate with you regarding our Services, including to respond to your communications.

We may disclose the personal information we collect about you or that you provide as follows:

  • With the donors and other entities for fundraising purposes, including in an aggregate form in our public-facing materials, such as grant applications, for informational purposes. 

  • With third parties such as our partners for their own purposes, including for research purposes. Such disclosure may be in exchange for something of value to NAL/AF (e.g., a list of donors or supporters from like-minded organizations who may also be interested in donating to and supporting NAL/AF). 

  • With our affiliates, including in exchange for something of value to NAL/AF. 

  • To comply with legal or regulatory requirements, respond to valid legal requests and legal process, participate in legal proceedings, including civil discovery and litigation, and protect and defend our and your rights and property. 

  • To otherwise protect you, us, and others from unlawful or fraudulent activities, and investigate potential violations of our policies, including our Terms of Use. 

  • In the event of a change of control, such as a merger, acquisition, restructuring, reorganization, change of status, or transfer of assets to an actual or prospective successor and their representatives and other relevant participants. 

  • Otherwise, with your consent. 

We do not share text message originator opt-in data and consent with third parties, except (1) with our third-party text messaging service provider as necessary to send you messages under our text messaging program, or (2) as required to comply with applicable laws, legal requests, or to protect our legal rights, safety, or property. 

Your Rights 

You may request to access, update, or delete the personal information we maintain about you. To honor your request, we will need to verify your identity, which may require you to provide us with additional personal information. If you are receiving text messages from us and wish to stop receiving them, simply respond by sending either “STOP” to the number from which you received the message. If you are receiving marketing emails from us and wish to stop receiving them, select the “unsubscribe” button at the bottom of the email. 

SECURITY

We have security measures in place to protect your personal information from accidental loss, misuse, and alteration. For example, customer data is password protected to guard against unauthorized access. In addition, all data moving between our Site and your browser is encrypted using SSL. However, no transmission of information through the Internet is completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk.

CHILDREN

The Services are not intended for, and we do not seek to or knowingly collect any personal information from or about, children under the age of eighteen (18). If you believe that we have collected personal information from or about a child under the age of eighteen (18), we ask you to contact us at: info@newamericanleaders.org and we will delete that information. 

Visitors from Outside of the United States 

Our servers are located in the United States, and our Services are intended for those in the United States only.

This Site contains links to third-party websites that we do not own or control; they are therefore not covered by this Privacy Policy. When you click on one of these links, you may be directed away from our Site to another website, and you will be subject to the privacy policy of that website. Do Not Track 

NAL/AF’s Site does not currently respond to do not track signals.
