New American Leaders Action Fund Endorsement Alert

The New American Leaders Action Fund (NALAF) today announced its latest round of endorsements in Georgia, Michigan, and New York.

“Our directive for 2020 could not be clearer—we need to do all we can to support new leadership that will act decisively with conscience and care for their constituents. It’s our year to use our political power, take our place at the table and create an inclusive democracy for all Americans,” said Sayu Bhojwani, founder and president of NALAF. “We are organizing, registering new voters, and turning out in historic numbers. New American Leaders Action Fund is proud to support three fierce women who have demonstrated their commitment to improving the lives of those in their states, and will bring dignity to the offices they are running to serve.”

In Georgia, former State Representative Deborah Gonzalez, proved she has the grit and judiciousness we need for District Attorney, Western Judicial Circuit when she stood up to Governor Kemp’s injustice, sued his office and won to keep the election on the 2020 ballot. In Michigan first-generation American Tania Ganguly is running for Canton Township Trustee, where she will draw from her rich experience in community service and organizing. Native New Yorker, Amanda Septimo, has been a community activist and public servant her entire life and will be a critical advocate for her NYS Assembly, District 84.

“The strength of their campaigns heading into the general election is just one sign of the support for our movement and the political power of our New American communities,” Sayu continued. “These candidates are the future of our democracy and will create a government that represents and works for all people, not just the pale, stale, and male establishment."
